Finance was supposed
to be solved by now.
Every other department got modern software in the 2010s — Sales got Salesforce, Engineering got GitHub, Marketing got HubSpot. Finance and Procurement got bigger ERPs. We started Flowie in 2021 because the back office deserved better.

Origin
Finance and procurement practitioners. We knew what was broken.
Flowie started in 2021 with a small team that had spent a decade inside finance and procurement organisations. We’d shipped automation programs in industrial groups, rolled out e-invoicing across Europe, and lived through three full ERP migrations. We knew the shape of the problem in our hands.
The pattern was the same everywhere: invoices in inboxes, approvals over Slack, supplier data in five systems, treasury reconciled in spreadsheets, compliance bolted on at the end. Big-company budgets, mid-2000s software. Every CFO and CPO we talked to said the same thing — “we know what we want, the tools just don’t exist.”
We started Flowie to build them. Five years in, we’re a hundred-person team across France, EU, and the US, serving 20,000+ organisations from mid-market to Fortune 500. The bet that the back office deserved better — and that agentic AI made now the moment — has been the right one. The work, of course, is just beginning.
“We didn’t want to be another procurement vendor. We wanted to build the operating layer the back office had been waiting for.”
Manifesto
Six things we bet on every day.
Strategy is not a deck — it’s a sequence of bets. Here are the six we make every day, in product decisions, in hiring, and in how we sell.
The back office is software too.
Sales got Salesforce. Engineering got GitHub. Marketing got HubSpot. Finance and Procurement got bigger ERPs. The single biggest pool of structured business data is still moved by email and spreadsheets. We don't accept that.
Don't replace the ERP. Sit on top.
The history of finance software is a graveyard of 18-month rip-and-replace projects. Our customers run SAP, Sage, Odoo, Dynamics, NetSuite — often three at once across subsidiaries. We extend, never displace.
AI is a substrate, not a feature.
Bolting 'Ask AI' onto a 2010s product is not the same thing as building agents on a typed knowledge graph from day one. Astral is the substrate. Agents reason on it, act on it, learn from it — every action versioned, reversible, audited.
Honesty is a moat.
Every comparison page on this site lists where competitors win. Every claim has a source. Every number is current. Buyers detect overclaim in seconds — we've been on the other side of the table. Trust compounds; spin doesn't.
Open beats closed.
Astral exposes typed entities and typed actions via Model Context Protocol. Build your own agents on the same substrate we use. The infrastructure layer shifts every decade; the data graph is the moat.
Europe-first, not Europe-retrofitted.
PA-certified by the DGFIP (December 2025) for the French 2026 mandate. ISO 27001:2022. EU-hosted on Google Cloud Frankfurt + Belgium. ChorusPro / Peppol / ViDA-ready. Not a US product translated for GDPR — built EU-native, exported globally.
Where we’ve been
Five years. One thesis. The work compounding.
Founded in Paris
Three finance & procurement practitioners. One bet: the back office is finally ready for agents.
First customers
Industrial mid-market in France. AP automation as the wedge. Multi-ERP from day one.
Knowledge graph live
Custom typed graph for Finance and Procurement entities ships in production. The substrate later named Astral. Foundation for everything that follows.
Marquee wave
Eiffage. Stellantis Finance Services. Accor. Séché. Groupe RG. The thesis worked at scale.
Agents · Astral · PA-certified
Production AI agents ship across the F&P lifecycle — Invoice Processing, Approval Copilot, Collection. Knowledge graph gets its name (Astral). MCP-native. 600M+ companies queryable. Plateforme Agréée by the DGFIP (December 2025) for the French e-invoicing mandate.
Today
Agentic F&P platform live at scale. ISO 27001:2022. ViDA-ready. Open via MCP — build your own agents on the same substrate we use. Europe-grade compliance, native.

Where we’re going
Orchestration → Data → Trust Network → Marketplace.
A four-stage strategic vision. We’re shipping the first two today. The third is building. The fourth defines the next decade.
Orchestration platform
One platform. Every ERP. Every supplier. Agents that perceive, decide, and act across the F&P lifecycle. This is what most customers buy us for in 2026.
Data platform
Astral as the canonical, real-time, typed knowledge graph for Finance and Procurement. The substrate every agent — ours or yours — runs on. MCP-native, GDPR-native, query-anywhere.
Trust network
600M+ companies enriched, scored, KYS-verified. B2B payments verified at the source. The shared trust layer that makes B2B transactions cheaper, safer, faster — for both sides of the table.
Marketplace
An ecosystem of apps and agents built on Astral via MCP. Flowie's own agents are the first wave. Partners and customers ship the rest. The data graph is the moat.
How we work
Operating principles, not buzzwords.
Four practices that show up daily. They’re what makes the team productive — and what we look for in everyone we hire.
Customer interviews, weekly.
Every product manager, every engineer, every founder talks to customers every week. Not surveys — calls. The roadmap is built from those calls.
Ship in days, not quarters.
Most features land within a sprint of being asked for. The platform is modular by design — change one piece, deploy it, watch the metric move.
Write before you code.
Every meaningful change starts with a written doc — problem, options, recommendation. Async-first culture, distributed across France, EU, US.
Default to honest.
Internal numbers shared weekly. Customer wins AND losses reviewed. Public comparisons concede where competitors win. The team that hears the truth ships better software.
