Mandate Overview

The mandate

Czechia operates a voluntary e-invoicing regime today. B2G suppliers route invoices through the Information System of Data Boxes (ISDS) operated by the Ministry of the Interior, with the national ISDOC format and Peppol BIS both accepted. The Ministry of Finance has been studying a mandatory B2B e-invoicing reform since 2024, with public consultation pointing toward an EN 16931-aligned structured-exchange model timed to the EU ViDA deadlines.

FAQ

Common questions

Is B2B e-invoicing mandatory in Czechia?

No. B2B exchange is fully voluntary today. Many large Czech enterprises already issue and receive structured invoices in ISDOC or Peppol BIS to align with EU partners, but there is no domestic clearance or reporting obligation.

What format does the Czech public sector use?

B2G receivers must accept ISDOC 6.0.2 and Peppol BIS via the Information System of Data Boxes. EN 16931-compliant CIUS profiles are also accepted under the 2014/55/EU directive.
